Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) Play Team Member (After School Club)

15 hours per week - Fixed term contract until July 2026

Club hours Monday to Thursday 3.15pm – 6pm and Friday 2pm – 4.45pm

(working hours 3-6pm Monday – Thursday and 1.45pm – 4.45pm Friday)

Starting : ASAP

Grade 3 SCP 4-5 (£25,185- £25,583, pro rata)

The Governors of Oakwood Avenue Primary School wish to appoint an Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) Play Team Member in our After School Club
Responsible to: School Business Manager and Head Teacher
Main Duties:

• Working as part of the wraparound team to ensure all children have access to exciting play opportunities in a safe and secure environment.
• Work with the curricular play lead and play team members to ensure that all children have a safe site for play.
• Assess play areas for risks daily and communicating/implementing any changes required.
• Facilitate play opportunities and act as an ambassador for play.
• Assist with putting out and packing away play equipment.

Skills and experience:

• Enjoy engaging with young children to deliver high quality play
• Have experience of working with children
• Have an understanding of how children develop and learn
• Be willing to learn and develop with the support of our experienced staff team
• Be an excellent communicator with adults and children alike
• Be flexible and able to adapt to different situations
• Be organised and able to work well as part of a team
