The Governors of Oakwood Avenue Primary School wish to appoint a committed, proactive, highly motivated and responsible person to join our site team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day security, cleanliness, maintenance, and safe operation of the school premises, ensuring a well-maintained, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors at all times.

Normal working patterns are:

Monday & Wednesday 10.15am-6.15pm  

Tuesday & Thursday 8am-4pm  

Friday 8am - 3.30pm

School holiday hours are 8am - 4pm (Monday - Thursday) and 8- 3.30pm (Friday)

Start date: As soon as possible, subject to enhanced DBS clearance

Governors seek an individual who can: 

  • work as part of a team

  • communicate effectively with children, staff, governors, parents and contractors 

  • demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures.

  • Manage their time effectively, ensuring key tasks and priorities are carried out as required and to a compliant standard.

  • Ensure the school and its grounds are always safe and secure for our children and staff.

School Business Manager (Maternity Cover) 37 hours per week, term time + 4 weeks

                                                 Required: 1st September 2026 (prior handover and training days with current SBM to be arranged)

                                                                                            Salary: Grade 7 SCP 23 - 27 (£34,434 - £38,220 pro rata)

                                                                                              Hours:  37 hours per week (term time plus 4 weeks)

The Governors of Oakwood Avenue Primary School are looking to recruit an experienced School Business Manager to cover a maternity leave period. The successful candidate must be able to work independently as well as part of a team and be flexible to meet the operational needs of our school. 

Key elements of the role are: 

  • Organise, maintain and monitor the schools financial and personnel systems

  • Manage office functions to ensure an effective service to the school

  • Oversee Health and Safety and premises management

  • Line manage office staff, site staff, cleaners and middays
